23-SEPTEMBER-2024 - FINDING MY VISION

THE MAIN THEME: WHERE AM I HEADED TO?

TITLE:  FINDING MY VISION

Our Bible verse for today’s devotional is: PROVERBS 29:18 (NIV)

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

Devotional:

To find your vision, you must first understand what it is and where it comes from. Vision is the ability to see your future with clarity and purpose. It's the insight into your destiny, born out of your purpose on earth. Your purpose is the reason you exist, the essence of your being, and the solution to humanity's challenges that God designed you to provide.

Understanding Your Purpose Unlocks Your Vision

Recognizing your purpose is the first step to finding your vision. When you understand why you exist, you'll be able to see your vision clearly. Vision is not just a mental image, but a faith-inspired glimpse of your future. It's the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

The Source of Vision: God

Every great innovation, from airplanes to the internet, was first conceptualized and visualized. Similarly, your vision is a personal view of your future, inspired by God.

Your Vision is Your Deepest Desire

Don't search for your vision outside of yourself. It's as close as your deepest desires, thoughts, ideas, plans, and dreams that consistently resonate within you. Vision is not just an interest, but a passion that possesses you.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1.     Why am I here? Why do I exist? What problem was I born to solve? What solutions should I bring to my world?

LET US PRAY:

Lord, thank you for your word to me today, I do not want to perish because of lack of vision. I asked that as I spent time in your presence, may I catch a glimpse of my future that you have proposed for me.  Amen

Please say these words of affirmation.  Say them, mean them, own them and live them.

  • I know where I am headed.
  • I am a person of vision.
  • My vision will create solutions.

Have a beautiful day. Take good care.  See you tomorrow.

THE MAIN THEME: WHERE AM I HEADED TO?

TITLE: ACTIVATING MY VISION

The bible verse for today’s devotional is  Habakkuk 2:2  (NIV)

Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.

Devotional:

Do you have a clear picture of what you want your future to look like? Activating your vision is the key to making it a reality!

Having identified your vision, you need to gain clarity into the exact path you need to tow and how to get there.  This will enable you to determine the goals you need to set and the steps to achieving them.

Activating your vision requires that you go beyond documentation to breaking it into simple actionable steps. You will need to include time-frames for achievements, milestones that will be reached, and requirements needed for achieving them.

Your vision should be broken into goals, SMART goals, they should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound goals.

There is no achievement of goals without a plan.

How to activate your vision:

  1. Imagine Your Future: Close your eyes and picture yourself 5-10 years from now. What does your ideal life look like?
  2. Set Clear Objectives: Write down what you want to achieve in different areas of your life (education, career, relationships, etc.).
  3. Make it Specific: Avoid vague goals. Instead, make sure your objectives are specific, measurable, and attainable.
  4. Create a Visual Reminder: Draw, paint, or create a vision board to represent your goals. This will help you stay focused and motivated.
  5.  Break it Down: Divide your long-term goals into smaller, manageable steps. Take action on these steps every day.
  6. Stay Committed: Remind yourself why you're working towards your vision. Celebrate your progress and stay positive.

You are the Architect of Your Future

Activating your vision takes courage, creativity, and determination. But remember, you have the power to design the life you want. So go ahead, bring your vision to life, and make your dreams a reality!

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What is my vision?
  2. What skills, training and learnings do I need to acquire in order to activate my vision?

LET US PRAY:

Dear Lord, please grant me the grace to activate my vision. In your mercy, please provide all I need to to bring it to life. Amen

Please say these words of affirmation: Say them. Mean them and own them.

  • I know where I am headed.
  • My vision is a solution to mankind
  • I will be taking little actionable steps today to bring my vision to past

Have a beautiful day. See you tomorrow.

21-SEPTEMBER-2024 - THE ENEMY CALLED DISTRACTIONS

THE MAIN THEME: WHERE AM I HEADED TO?

TITLE: THE ENEMY CALLED DISTRACTIONS

The Bible verse for today’s devotional is: Numbers 13: 27-28 (NIV)

They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.

Devotional:

Today, we start with Winston Churchill’s quote “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks”.

I hope you know that as you journey towards achieving our goals and purpose in life, there will be many things vying for your attention. Have a quick rethink about yesterday; what did you set out to do? How many were you able to accomplish?

The things that try to deviate you from your goals or at least slow you down, may not always be bad situations or ideas. Sometimes,  good thoughts and ideas may become a distraction (it may be a case of wrong timing) and then you will have to decide to let go of the good, so that you can obtain the best which is the achievement of your goal. In this instance, you will need to prioritize or ask yourself, what is more important at this moment?

Where the distraction is bad, meaning the idea is completely drifting you away from achieving a set goal, of course, it’s  a no-no. You therefore must always consider the consequences of every of your actions.

Now you know that this will happen, how can you position yourselves so that you can have a better chance of reaching your goals?

  • Be self aware
  • Be mindful of actions and their consequences.
  • Stay committed to the course.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • Do I get distracted? What or who distracts me?
  • Do I have measures in place to handle distractions?

LET US PRAY:

Dear God, please help me cooperate with you to recognize and minimize distractions today and always, in Jesus’ name. Amen

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know where I am headed.
  • I am focused, I will be focused.

Do have a self fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!
