14-OCTOBER-2024 - MENTORSHIP - THE NAVIGATOR THROUGH STAGNANT WATERS

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: MENTORSHIP: THE NAVIGATOR THROUGH STAGNANT WATERS

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself."

 – Oprah Winfrey

Devotional:
There are moments in life when we feel stuck, unsure of where to go or what to do next. During these times, a mentor can be the key to helping us navigate through stagnant waters. Just as a ship needs a navigator to avoid being lost at sea, we often need someone with wisdom and experience to guide us toward our potential. Mentors offer valuable advice, provide encouragement, and help us see possibilities we might not have considered.

A well-known example of mentorship in action is the relationship between Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. When Zuckerberg was developing Facebook, he sought advice from Jobs, who was an experienced entrepreneur. Jobs provided valuable insights and guidance that helped Zuckerberg navigate the complexities of growing a tech startup. This mentorship played a crucial role in Facebook’s success, demonstrating how experienced guidance can be a powerful tool in overcoming challenges and achieving growth.

Mentorship provides direction and clarity when life feels stagnant. It offers perspective and insight from someone who has already walked a similar path. Whether in personal development, career growth, or navigating complex decisions, a mentor helps you see past limitations and encourages you to take the next step forward. Just like Zuckerberg benefited from Jobs’ wisdom, you too can gain from the guidance of a mentor to help you move through life’s challenges.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Is there an area in my life where I feel stuck or unsure?
  2. How could finding a mentor help me navigate through my current challenges?
  3. Who in my life can serve as a mentor, offering guidance and wisdom?
  4.  In what ways can I become a mentor to someone who may be going through a similar experience?

LET US PRAY:
"Lord, thank You for the gift of mentorship. Help me to seek wise counsel when I feel stuck and to appreciate the value of those who guide me. Grant me the wisdom to learn from my mentors and the courage to mentor others when the time comes. Amen."

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I recognize and submit to great mentors in my life.
  • I am open to learning from those who have gone before me and willing to share my knowledge with others.

Do have a splendid day learning the feet of mentors. Hope to catch you tomorrow.

13-OCTOBER-2024 - PRESERVING YOUR TALENTS

MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: PRESERVING YOUR TALENTS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is:1 Timothy 4:14 (NIV)
“Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.”

Devotional:
Preserving your talents means not only recognizing and using them but also taking care of them to ensure they are not wasted or neglected. Just as athletes train regularly to keep their bodies in peak condition, you must continually develop and refine your talents. This involves practice, learning, and sometimes even rest, to ensure your talents don’t burn out or go to waste.

A good example is the story of the late Kobe Bryant, who was known for his incredible work ethic. Kobe didn’t just rely on his natural ability; he constantly worked to improve, often arriving at the gym hours before anyone else. He preserved his talent by being disciplined, dedicated, and passionate about his craft.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Am I actively working to preserve and develop my talents?
  2. What habits can I build to ensure my talents are not wasted?
  3. How can I use my talents without burning out?

Let Us Pray:
Lord, thank You for the talents You have given me. Help me to preserve them by being disciplined and diligent in my efforts. May I use my talents wisely and for Your glory. Amen!

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I am committed to preserving and refining my talents. I will practise discipline, dedication, and balance in all I do.

Have an awe-mazing day. Cheers. I’ll see you tomorrow.

12-OCTOBER-2024 - LIVING ABOVE BOTTLENECKS

MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: LIVING ABOVE BOTTLENECKS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is:  Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Devotional:
Life is full of challenges and obstacles that can sometimes make you feel stuck. These bottlenecks can be discouraging, but they don’t have to define your journey. When you place your hope in God, He gives you the strength to rise above these challenges and continue moving forward.

Let me tell you a story about  Nick Vujicic, a man born without arms and legs. Despite his physical limitations, Nick has become a world-renowned speaker, inspiring millions with his story of perseverance and faith. He lives above his bottlenecks by trusting in God and never giving up.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What bottlenecks am I currently facing in my life?
  2. How can I trust God more in these situations?
  3. What practical steps can I take to overcome these challenges?

Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord, help me to live above the bottlenecks in my life. Give me the strength and courage to overcome every obstacle, knowing that with You, I can do all things. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I will not be discouraged by life’s challenges. With God’s strength, I will rise above every bottleneck and continue to pursue my purpose.

Have a beautiful day overcoming bottlenecks. See you tomorrow.

11-OCTOBER-2024 - TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH

MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 2 Peter 1:5-6 (NIV)
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness.”

Devotional:
Having talent is a wonderful gift, but talent alone is not enough to achieve greatness. It requires hard work, discipline, and character. The world is full of talented people who never reached their full potential because they relied solely on their abilities and neglected the other qualities necessary for success.

Consider the life of King Saul in the Bible. He was anointed as the first king of Israel, tall, handsome, and full of potential. But his lack of obedience and humility eventually led to his downfall. On the other hand, David, who was less physically impressive, became a great king because he combined his talent with faith, hard work, and a heart after God.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Am I relying too much on my talent alone?
  2. What other qualities do I need to develop to complement my talents?
  3. How can I cultivate discipline and perseverance in my life?

Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the talents You’ve given me. Help me to remember that talent is just one part of the equation. Give me the strength to develop the discipline, character, and perseverance needed to succeed. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them.

  • I know what I have
  • I understand that talent alone is not enough.
  • I will develop the discipline, character, and perseverance needed to fully utilize my gifts.

Have a beautiful day exhibiting more than your talents. See you tomorrow.

10-OCTOBER-2024 - YOUR COMPASS

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: YOUR COMPASS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Devotional:

A compass is a device that shows you which direction you need to go and can take you there without anyone leading you.  You must have faith that the compass has the capacity to show you the way. This signifies independence and willingness to push yourself out of your comfort zone and go at it alone, trusting that no matter what happens you will always find your way.

David in Psalm 119 acknowledged the word of God as a lamp to his feet and a light to his path. The word of God is our ultimate source of light and guidance, even in the darkest moments.  It illuminates our way.   Compass symbolizes direction which is what the word of God does and as a navigational tool, represents the pursuit of divine direction in our lives.

Getting to our destination requires that we trust our compass which is the word of God, wholeheartedly.

The word of God also serves as a moral compass, guided by the Holy Spirit, helps us in the choices we make and keeps us on the path of righteousness. Gal 5:16-17 encourages us to walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh.

Today’s devotion reminds us to trust in God’s word, seek his guidance, rely on his light, walk in the spirit and fix our eyes on Jesus as our true north.  When we trust in the Lord in the light of his word, we can navigate the challenges and decisions we have to make while staying in close walk with Jesus

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1.       How often do I refer to my compass (word of God) on my life journey?
  2.       Do I really trust in my compass for direction and guidance?
  3.       In what ways can I foster my relationship with Christ as the WAY to my heavenly father?

Let us pray

Lord thank you for your word to me today, I embrace your word as the compass of my life. I trust in your word with all my heart, lead me in the way I should go in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation: Say them mean, own them and live them

  • I know what I have.
  • God’s word is guiding me on my life’s journey
  • I will continuously walk in the path of righteousness
  • Thy word is a light unto my path

Do have a beautiful day. I’ll see you tomorrow
