24-OCTOBER-2024 - THE VALUE OF YOUR VOICE

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO i HAVE

TITLE: THE VALUE OF YOUR VOICE

The quote for today’s devotional is:
"Your voice can change the world." – Barack Obama

Devotional:
Have you ever felt like your voice doesn’t matter or that no one would listen to what you have to say? The truth is, your voice is powerful and valuable. Every one of us has a unique perspective, story, and insight to share with the world. Think about the great changes in history—many of them started because someone decided to speak up. Whether it's standing up for justice, sharing your ideas, or speaking words of kindness and encouragement, your voice can influence the world around you.

Barack Obama’s journey to becoming the first African-American president of the United States began with the belief that his voice, no matter how small it seemed at the time, could inspire hope and change. Like him, your voice has the power to make an impact. It doesn’t matter your age, status, or background—what you have to say matters. There is someone yearning to hear it.

God has given each of us a voice to use for good. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that "the tongue has the power of life and death." With your words, you can uplift, inspire, and even change someone's life for the better. Don’t underestimate the value of your voice. Whether it’s speaking up for someone, sharing your ideas, or encouraging a friend, your words have the power to make a difference.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What do I have to say?
  2. Do I believe my voice is valuable? Why or why not?
  3. Have there been times when I felt afraid to speak up? What held you back?
  4. How can you use my voice to encourage, uplift, or inspire those around me?

LET US PRAY:
Lord, thank You for the gift of my voice. Help me to use it wisely and courageously to speak truth, bring encouragement, and make a positive impact. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I know what I Have
  • I have something to say to heal the world
  • I acknowledge the power and value of my voice.
  • I will not be afraid to speak.

You have something to say, let your voice be heard today. Take good care, I’ll see you tomorrow!

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE:  THE BEAUTY IN YOU

The quote for today’s devotional is:

"You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you."

Solomon Jesse

Devotional:

In a world obsessed with external appearances, it’s easy to lose sight of the true beauty that lies within each of us. We often measure our worth by society’s standards, comparing ourselves to others and focusing on what we perceive as flaws. But the truth is, real beauty isn't about perfection—it's about the unique qualities and inner light that make you who you are.

God created you with intentionality and love, crafting every detail with care. The beauty in you isn’t just skin-deep; it’s woven into your character, your kindness, your courage, and your compassion. It’s in the way you uplift others, the way you love, and the way you reflect God’s grace in your life.

Today, take a moment to see yourself as God sees you—altogether beautiful, with no flaw in His eyes. Open your heart to the beauty that radiates from within, and let it shine through in everything you do. Remember, your worth isn’t defined by external factors, but by the immeasurable value God has placed in you.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What are the unique qualities or traits that make me beautiful in God’s eyes?
  2. How can i shift my focus from external appearances to nurturing my inner beauty?
  3. In what ways can I use my inner beauty to make a positive impact on those around me?

LET US PRAY:

Heavenly Father, give me the confidence to embrace my true worth, and the grace to let my inner beauty shine in all I do. May I show Your love and light to the world, knowing that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I know what I have.
  • I am altogether beautiful, just as God created me.
  • I embrace my unique qualities and let my inner light shine.
  • I see myself through God’s eyes, recognizing my true beauty and worth.

Do have an awesome day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

22-OCTOBER-2024 - THE ABLE GOD, YOUR PILLAR OF SUPPORT

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE:  THE ABLE GOD, YOUR PILLAR OF SUPPORT

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me."

Devotional Reading:

Ever felt tired and weak? Weak enough mentally or emotionally that you can feel your knees give way, as though the weight of the world is pressing down on you? In these moments, it's easy to feel alone and overwhelmed, as if the burdens you carry are too much to bear. But take heart, for God is your pillar of support—He is the one who sustains you when you feel like you can't go on.

God is not only able but eager to strengthen and uphold you. He knows your struggles, your fears, and the weight you carry. His strength is made perfect in your weakness, and His support is unfailing. When you feel like you can't stand any longer, remember that the Able God is with you, holding you up and giving you the strength to keep moving forward.

Whether you’re dealing with physical exhaustion, emotional strain, or spiritual fatigue, God’s power is sufficient. He is your shield, your protector, and your source of renewed strength. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and allow Him to be your firm foundation when everything else seems unstable.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. In what areas of my  life am I feeling weak or overwhelmed right now?
  2. How can I lean on God fully as my pillar of support?
  3. What does it mean for me to trust in God's strength rather than relying solely on my own?

LET US PRAY:

Father, I come before You acknowledging my need for Your strength. Lord, help me to recognize You as my pillar of support, when I feel like I can’t stand on my own. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I know what I have.
  • God is my strength and my support in all things.
  • I trust in the Lord to carry me through my challenges.
  • When I am weak, God’s strength upholds me.

Do have a fantastic day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

21-OCTOBER-2024 - THE 5 PHASES OF TALENT -DOMINION

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE: THE 5 PHASES OF TALENT -DOMINION

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 22:29 (NIV)

‘Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.

Devotional:

In the different Bible translations of our verse for the day, the word skillful is translated into the words ‘diligent’, ‘excel’, ‘competent’, etc. This tells us that what we need to stand out-to really have dominion in our sphere will be more than just an understanding or the deployment of our gifts and talents.

There must be an intentionality and a doggedness to become the best and take over territories. Of course, everyone does not have the same definition of a territory, “to some He gave 5, to some he gave 10”; but everyone must be committed to ensuring that they are better today than they were yesterday. We must have a growth mindset as all we know is not all there is to know. We must choose excellence and set other values that truly stand us out from the crowd. God expects us not just to be faithful with what He has entrusted to us, but to be good/to be skillful at it.

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          Can my current skill level get me a spot with the King/people that need it and can reward me generously for this skill?

-          When I feel that unrest, that tug in my soul telling me I can do more, do I respond and ask how? Or do I recoil?

 LET US PRAY:

Dear God, I thank you for a reminder that I need to be a skillful servant and not just a faithful one. I trust you to help me become all I was created to be in Jesus' name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I am talented and competent
  • I am getting better each day
  • I have a growth mindset
  • I am skillful and faithful with my talents .

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

20-OCTOBER-2024 - THE 5 PHASES OF TALENT - SUBDUE

THE MAIN THEME: WHAT DO I HAVE?

TITLE:  THE 5 PHASES OF TALENT - SUBDUE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Devotional:

In the last few days, we have looked at identifying, growing, and mastering the use of our talents. However, if we do all the work of developing our gifts, but never step out and use them, what would be the use of all that effort?

The story of David in the Bible is an interesting story of being prepared and being brave enough to cease the moment when the opportunity shows up. David had been in the back side of the wilderness, tending his father’s sheep and in that time had improved his skills, both in music and in defending the sheep he tended. The opportunity came to showcase his skill when Saul needed a musician in the palace, and when Israel needed a hero to face Goliath, David was ready and he didn’t make excuses, he simply stepped into the limelight, ignoring the negativities from his brothers, and the rest is history.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. In what way can I use my talent to solve a problem in my immediate community?
  2. How can I overcome any fears or barriers in using my talent?

 LET US PRAY:

Dear God, I thank you for giving me the Spirit of boldness. Help me see and seize opportunities to showcase my gifts in Jesus' name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I know what I have
  • I am a solution provider
  • I am courageous and bold
  • I am committed to being prepared.
  • I will take up opportunities to light up my world.

Do have a problem solving day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!
