03-DECEMBER-2024 - THE JOURNEY VS. THE DESTINATION_ENJOYING THE PROCESS

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: THE JOURNEY VS. THE DESTINATION: ENJOYING THE PROCESS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: James 1:2-3 (NIV)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

Devotional

We often find ourselves so focused on where we want to be that we forget to enjoy where we are. We think, "When I get there, I’ll be happy," or "Once I achieve this, everything will be great." But a great lesson to learn is that the journey is just as important as the destination. God calls us to live fully in the present, trusting that He is working in and through every step we take.

It is easy to believe that life will be better once we “get there” whether that’s finishing with school, getting a certain job, achieving a goal, or reaching a dream. We focus so much on the destination that we miss what God is doing in our lives right now.

But the truth is, God doesn’t just work in our destination; He works in our journey. Every step, every challenge, every moment of waiting is part of His plan to shape us and help us grow. The journey is where we learn perseverance, faith, and patience. It is where we discover who we are and who God is calling us to be.

Enjoying the process means embracing each day, even the difficult ones, knowing that God is with you in the present. Life isn’t just about reaching a final destination; it’s about how we live.  When we focus too much on “getting there,” we miss the beauty, lessons, and growth that come from the journey itself.

Focus on today instead of constantly thinking about the future. Find joy in the process even when things are challenging. Look for the lessons God is teaching you. Sometimes the hardest parts of the journey bring the greatest growth.

Take time to celebrate the small victories along the way. Every step forward is worth acknowledging, even if you haven’t “arrived” yet.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • God knows when I will get there.
  • Do I appreciate my daily progress?
  • Am I more focused on reaching my goals or do I take time to appreciate the lessons learned along the way?
  • In what ways can I trust God's plan for my life, allowing me to enjoy the process rather than rushing to the end?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, help me to enjoy the journey You have me on. Teach me to find joy in each day, even when I’m waiting or facing challenges. I know there is a purpose for everything. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I trust that the journey is as valuable as the destination, and I am grateful for both.
  • I celebrate small victories, understanding that progress is more important than perfection.

Do have an enjoyable day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

02-DECEMBER-2024 - DELAYED BUT NOT DENIED_OVERCOMING SETBACKS

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: DELAYED BUT NOT DENIED: OVERCOMING SETBACKS

The bible verses for today’s devotional is: Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV)

"For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it  will certainly come and will not delay.."

Devotional

Have you ever felt like you were supposed to have made more progress than you have currently done? Maybe you have been working hard toward a goal or waiting for a dream to come true, but things keep getting delayed. You may have given yourself a timeline. It is easy to feel discouraged when we experience setbacks, but God’s timing is always perfect. Delays don’t mean denial but should be a period of preparation.

God’s promises are sure, even if they seem to be taking longer than we would like. Setbacks are a normal part of life, and they often feel frustrating or even unfair. You might be asking, “When do I get there?”

You have planned, prayed, and worked hard, but things just aren’t happening as quickly as you expected. This delay can make you doubt yourself, your dreams, or even God’s plans.

From scriptures we see the stories of many people who faced delays. For example, Joseph was sold into slavery and spent years in prison before becoming second in command in Egypt. David was anointed king but had to wait years to take the throne. These delays were not denials but times of preparation. God used them to shape their character, teach them patience, and build their competence and faith.

In the same way, the delays and setbacks in your life are not wasted. God may be protecting you from something you are not ready for or preparing you for a greater purpose. The key is to not give up or lose faith. Trust that even though it seems delayed, God's promises will come to pass in His perfect time. During times of delay, it is very easy to look at others and wonder why they seem to be moving faster. Remember that everyone’s path is different, and God’s timing for each man is unique.

Shift your perspective on setbacks. Fix your timelines, put in your best but if the timelines shift, do not fret, God may be at work. Instead of seeing delays as roadblocks, see them as detours that God is using to take you where you need to be. Keep working toward your goals and trust that God is working behind the scenes. What He has for you will come to pass at the right time.

Your story is still unfolding, and His timing is always perfect.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How do I usually respond when things don't happen in my desired timeline and what can I learn from these delays?
  • In what ways can I grow or prepare during seasons of waiting for what I desire?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, help me to trust in Your timing. Even when I face setbacks or delays, I know you have a plan for me. Teach me patience and give me the strength to keep moving forward, knowing that You will fulfil Your promises in due time. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I trust that every delay is working for my good because I love God and I am called according to His purpose.
  • I trust that God's timing is perfect, even when things seem slow or uncertain.
  • I release frustration and embrace peace as I wait for the right doors to open.

Rest assured lovelies, God timing is perfect. Have a pleasant day. I will see you tomorrow.

01-DECEMBER-2024 - TICK SAYS THE CLOCK

THE MAIN THEME: WHEN DO I GET THERE?

TITLE: TICK SAYS THE CLOCK

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 90:12 (NIV)

"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

Devotional

You most likely learnt the poem, “Tick says the clock“  while you were just a young child. A major lesson from the poem is the importance of making the most of every moment.

Every second counts. We often think we have all the time in the world, but the reality is that our time is limited. Time moves forward, no matter what we are doing with it. The clock doesn’t stop, and it’s easy to waste time waiting for the "big moments" in life. The big moments are shaped by how we live in the small, everyday moments.

God wants us to make the most of each moment. Sometimes we think "making the most" means doing something, but it also means being present, doing the little things well, and making wise choices today that set us up for the future.

Each day you live with purpose and intention brings you one step closer to "getting there," wherever that may be for you. The key is to trust God's timing and to use the time you have wisely.

Set small, achievable goals for yourself. Each goal you reach is a moment closer to your future dreams. Limit distractions such as endless scrolling on social media. They will only waste the precious time you have.

Tick says the clock, but it’s up to you to decide how to spend each tick..

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How do I currently manage my time?
  • What changes can I make to prioritize what truly matters?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, thank You for the gift of time. Help me to make the most of each moment, living with purpose and intention. Teach me to value the time I have and to use it in ways that honor You. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God knows when I will get there
  • I appreciate every tick of the clock.
  • I manage my time wisely, aligning my actions with my purpose and goals.
  • I use my time intentionally, focusing on what matters most to me.

Do have a pleasant day making the most of every tick, lovelies. I’ll see you tomorrow.

30-NOVEMBER-2024 - SPIRITUAL GPS - LISTENING TO GOD AND FOLLOWING HIS DIRECTION

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: SPIRITUAL GPS: LISTENING TO GOD AND FOLLOWING HIS DIRECTION

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Isaiah 30:21 (NIV)

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Devotional:

In life, it’s easy to feel lost or unsure of which path to take. The GPS can help you get to where you are going, from point A to point B.

Like a GPS, God offers us guidance through His Word, His Spirit, and the circumstances around us. But the key to following His direction lies in listening.

Just as we tune in to a GPS for instructions, we must also be intentional about tuning in to God’s voice. He speaks to us in many ways—through Scripture, prayer, wise counsel, and even the stillness of our hearts.

Here are a few tips to use your spiritual GPS

1.Be still and listen:

In a world full of noise and distractions, listening to God requires us to be intentionally still. It’s in the quiet moments that God often speaks the loudest. The Bible tells us to "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).

 2: Follow His Word

The Bible is like a map that guides us on our journey. It is full of wisdom, instruction, and encouragement.  As you spend time reading the Bible, God will reveal His plans and purposes for your life, giving you the direction you need.

 3 Seek God in Prayer

Prayer is our direct line to God. It’s how we ask for guidance and how we receive peace about the decisions we’re making. When we pray, we open our hearts to God’s leading, allowing Him to align our desires with His will.

  1. Stay focused on His voice

Just as you wouldn’t ignore your GPS while driving, it’s important to stay focused on God’s voice throughout your journey as it is easy to get distracted by the opinions of others or by our own doubts and fears.

Here are a few reflective questions

  1. In what ways can I make studying and meditating on God’s word a more consistent part of my spiritual journey?
  2. In what areas of my life do I feel uncertain, and how can I seek clarity through prayer and the Bible?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my guide and my source of direction. Help me quiet the noise around me and tune in to Your voice. Give me the strength to follow, even when the road seems unfamiliar in Jesus name Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • Following God will take me to where I am going.
  • God’s Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I trust His promises and follow His direction with confidence.
  • I will listen to God’s voice,
  • I trust He will guide me with wisdom and love.

Do have a beautiful day. Catch you, I’ll see you tomorrow.

29-NOVEMBER-2024 - LISTENING TO GOD'S VOICE

THE MAIN THEME: HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I AM GOING?

TITLE: LISTENING TO GOD'S VOICE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth"

Devotional:

In the noise and busyness of life, it can be difficult to hear God’s voice. Yet, He often speaks in stillness. He whispers to our hearts when we quiet our minds and attune our spirits to Him. Listening to God requires patience, sensitivity, and a genuine desire to be guided by Him. As we make time to be still, we begin to realise that God has been speaking all along, gently leading us with His love and wisdom.

Don’t wait for dramatic, out-of-this-world experiences to hear Him. God often shows up in the ordinary moments—our daily routines, conversations, and even the most mundane activities. His voice can be found in the simple, quiet moments that we may overlook. When we remain open, we can hear Him guiding us every day.

Looking for how to start?
Ask a question and wait for the answer. Write a letter to Him, share your heart openly, and ask Him to join you in your daily activities. As you invite Him into your everyday life, listen closely for His response—you may be surprised by how He answers.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How often do you take time to be still before God?
  2. In what ways do you sense God speaking to you?
  3. What changes can you make to create more space for hearing God's voice?

LET US PRAY:

Lord, help me to slow down and listen for Your voice. Speak to me in the stillness, and guide my steps according to Your will. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • Listening to God voice, will make me get to where I am going
  • I am open to hearing God’s voice and following His guidance.
  • I will be still and listen to God’s wisdom.
  • I trust that God is speaking to me, and I am sensitive to His guidance.

Do have a calm day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!
