27-APRIL-2025 - LIVING FOR AN AUDIENCE OF ONE

THE MAIN THEME:  CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: LIVING FOR AN AUDIENCE OF ONE

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Galatians 1:10 (NIV)

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Devotional

“I am not living to impress anyone rather for the approval of God Almighty who sees everyone.” This was the exact response of Obinna when the driver conveying the cement to the site he was managing, cajoled him into entering a deal with him.  He had requested that Obinna allow him to keep 25 bags in the truck after he had offloaded the bags of cement, meanwhile he asked Obinna to record that he offloaded all.

The driver reminded him that as a young man, who just finished his youth service and is about settling down, he should be smart to learn how things are done in the construction industry. He promised him that he would be rewarded handsomely if only he cooperated with him.

Obinna needed not to think about it, as he was angry in his spirit at the level of corruption in the land. He warned the driver sternly, reiterating that he would ensure that that there wouldn’t be diversion of resources meant for this site anywhere else. All this happened during the Christmas season when his bo0ss had gone on holiday with his family leaving everything on site to Obinna’s care.

At the beginning of the year, when the boss had returned, Obinna gave a detailed account of materials he received and he they were deployed.  The boss was so thrilled and immediately offered him a permanent position where he will be earning handsomely. Obinna's decision is a demonstration of how we should live our lives as Christians. It exemplifies his belief and relationship with God. He showed an understanding of the omnipresence God he serves.  It’s a testament that he upgrades good values and can apply delay gratification in the face of temptations.

Living for an audience of one is to live our lives focusing on the approval of God, seeking to please him regardless of man’s opinion. Apostle Paul is reminding us in today's text to be mindful of whose approval we are seeking.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Who is taking God’s place in your life?
  2. To whom have you delegated your accountability to?

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Lord for your word to me today. I ask that you forgive me in any way I have put man’s approval above your judgement. I repent today, and I focus on you my number one audience in Jesus’ name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

Please say these words of affirmation.  Say them, mean them, own them and live them

  • I am loved and made whole by God
  • I live to please Him daily.  See you tomorrow

Have a pleasant day, world changers. I’ll see you tomorrow.

26-APRIL-2025 - USING YOUR GIFT FOR GOD’S GLORY

THE MAIN THEME:  CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: USING YOUR GIFT FOR GOD’S GLORY

The bible verse for today’s devotional is : 1 Peter 4:10-11 (NIV)

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Devotional

Dumebi had just discovered his love for music and playing musical instruments. He joined the teen church band and began to practice during their rehearsal days.  Dumebi is so versatile that within a short period he had mastered to play the drums and piano.

His friend introduced him to another circular band. They welcomed him because he is so talented at what he does. They pay him for every event he featured, soon some of these events were on Sundays. Dumebi started missing the Teen Church because he had to attend an event in the evening.

Gradually, Dumebi became too comfortable with the money he was earning at the expense of his service to God’s house. He forgot that God can help him own his own band and become an employer of talented people and still make much money from his band. The bible says seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and every other thing that the world is seeking after will be yours.

Remember your talent is God’s gift to you, what you do with it is your gift back to God. First acknowledge God as the giver, then enquire of the Lord how he would want you to serve him and humanity with the gift.  Our text for today reminds us to use our gift to serve one another willingly with all our strength and energy because God is the supplier of everything we have, then shall everything we do bring glory to Him. I know you want your gift to bring glory to God.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How have I deployed my gift to serve God and humanity?
  2. Am I a faithful steward of God’s gift? What can I do differently today?

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Lord for your word to me today. I repent of any way I have abuse the gift you place in my life to serve you and humanity.  I receive the grace to make right decision today that through my gift Lord your name will forever be glorified in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am God's masterpiece
  • I am resourceful to both God and man

I’ll see you tomorrow.

25-APRIL-2025 - SERVING OTHERS WITH A HUMBLE HEART

THE MAIN THEME:  CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: SERVING OTHERS WITH A HUMBLE HEART

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 22:4

Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life

Devotional

It takes a humble heart to serve.

Before Faith became the first lady of her state, she was a sanctuary Keeper in her church. After the inauguration ceremony, everyone had thought that she would no longer have time for such lowly services in the church. To the amazement of people, she was there at the Saturday church clean-up with her broom and mop. Some people tried to stop her, but she won’t oblige. In her words “God found me worthy of such a glamorous position in the society, I will serve Him as I used to before he elevated me.

Humility positions you to attract God’s attention in your life. One thing that God resists is pride. So, when he finds a man with a humble spirit God wants to partner with him in order to show himself famous in compassion.  When you are humble it demonstrates your faith, dependency and respect for divinity. It is a proof of your recognition that all that you have comes from Him in whom we live, move and have our being.

Jesus took the form of a servant to save humanity. He thought of us when he left his heavenly abode and took the form of a man and became obedient to death. He demonstrated true humility when he washed the feet of his disciples and commanded them to do the same.

Phil 2:3 Don’t be selfish, don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. This verse instructs us to treat others with humility and selflessness. It encourages us to consider others’ needs more important than ours.

Our text for today reminds us of the benefits of a humble life.  It leads to riches, honour and long life. What more can we ask for? Let’s embrace our service to God and man with humility thereby setting ourselves up for God’s abundance of blessings.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. When I offer help, am I truly focused on the other person's needs, or am I seeking validation or recognition?
  2. How can I better listen and understand the needs of those I serve, without imposing my own assumptions or solutions?

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Lord for your word to me today. I receive grace to do all that I ought to do with a humble spirit to the glory of your name in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  1. Today I choose to serve others with a humble heart, recognizing their inherent worth and dignity.
  2. My actions are guided by genuine compassion and a desire to uplift those around me.

Cheers to a great day ahead. I’ll see you tomorrow.

24-APRIL-2025 - CHOOSING JOY IN A NEGATIVE WORLD

THE MAIN THEME:  CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: CHOOSING JOY IN A NEGATIVE WORLD

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: James 1:2 (NIV)
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

Devotional

Neme had gained admission into the university and her joy knew no bounds, but the family is undergoing a terrifying financial setback and it is taking a toll on her upkeep allowance. The first semester she barely fed once a day; no transport fare to lectures, she had to trek a long distance daily, it was as if she was not going to survive this season of lack. But one notable thing about Neme is her ever cheerful and smiling face. She carried herself as if all is well, as if she lacked nothing.

One day another student came complaining to her that her parents didn’t buy enough clothes for her resumption and how that made her sad. Neme asked her, do you have foodstuffs; she said I have more than enough, Neme asked her do you have pocket money, she said yes that too was well provided for her. Neme told her that she is blessed and should be grateful for what she has.  She reminded her of her own struggles and how she is navigating her season with joy. She made her see reason to be thankful and grateful for what her parents were able to provide.

When asked why she was always wearing a cheerful disposition, Neme told them that her joy is not dependent on what she has or lacks and that life is lived on the basis of choices we make on a daily basis.  Phil 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again – rejoice. God knows that we will go through some hard times in life, that is why he wants us to always guard our joy, making it an integral part of our life. You can choose to make a deliberate conscious choice to think about the right things; you have health, your family and relationships, brain functioning well, your whole body is serving you, it is worth being joyful for.

What robs us of our joy is when we believe the lie of the enemy that we are forsaken or left alone.  Isa 40:10 says Fear not for I am with you. Remember joy is a fetcher; with joy you can draw from the well of salvation all the promises encoded in your walk with God.

Our greatest joy will be that we know God, love Him and obey his words. It will be that we are vessels of honour in his hand and that God can touch, heal, deliver humanity through us.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • How can I cultivate a sustainable sense of joy that isn't simply escapism, but a resilient inner strength that allows me to engage with the world's challenges with both compassion and hope?
  • Phil 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Lord, for your word to me today. I choose the joy which comes from knowing that I am loved and that you are mindful of me, I choose to always be full of joy today and always in Jesus name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  1. I choose to find moments of joy, even amidst challenges.
  2. My joy is a source of strength and resilience.
  3. I am worthy of experiencing happiness and creating positive moments.

Go ahead, go and shine because you can. I’ll see you tomorrow.

23-APRIL-2025 - SMALL ACTIONS, BIG IMPACT

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: SMALL ACTIONS, BIG IMPACT

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Luke 16:10 (NIV)

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” Devotional

Have you ever heard the story of the little boy who offered his five loaves and two fish to Jesus? That small action led to the feeding of over five thousand people! It shows that no action is too small when placed in the hands of God.

Sometimes, we feel that making a difference requires doing something huge, but little things like offering a smile, helping a friend, or sharing knowledge can make a difference. Small actions build up over time, creating a ripple effect that can impact many lives.

Every small act of kindness, discipline, or encouragement adds value to your world. Don’t wait to do something big before making a difference. Start small, stay consistent, and trust God to multiply your efforts.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1.   What small actions can you take daily to help others?
  2.   How have small actions from others impacted your life?
  3.   What habits can you start today that will lead to a more significant change?
  4.   How can God use your small actions to make a big impact?

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, help me to see that even the smallest actions can make a difference. Give me the courage to take small steps daily and trust You to multiply my efforts. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  •         My small actions have a significant impact.
  •         God can use me to change the world.
  •         I will not despise small beginnings.
  •         I am consistent and faithful in little things.

Keep doing good, one step at a time. I'll see you tomorrow!
