29-AUGUST-2024 - HERE TO REIGN

MAIN THEME IS: WHY AM I HERE?

TITLE: HERE TO REIGN

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Romans 5:17 (NIV)

”For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

Devotional:

I believe we all agree that if a child is born to an earthly King or ruler, he/she naturally is a prince or princess and automatically is expected to assume rulership when the time comes.

As children of God, we need to always remind ourselves that we are God’s handiwork /workmanship predestined for good works as stated in Ephesians 2:10. Today’s bible text also reminds us that we have received the abundant grace of God and the free gift of righteousness,  and so we ought to reign in life through Jesus Christ (as we carry out the assignments he has programmed for us to do).

I like that it says we ought to reign in life through Jesus Christ because sometimes when we review our experiences in life, some of them do not appear like we are reigning in life, or certain aspects of life don't have the results that suggest we are reigning right?

Well, it is God’s plan for us to reign in life. But as earthly princes or princesses need to learn and grow physically and mentally in their domain, we too are expected to grow in God and grow in the areas where we are not at our best.

Go at life with a rulership mindset, we are princes and princesses of the most High King. Be willing to unlearn and relearn to move forward in all aspects of life, and be full of gratitude while at it - ‘ You have the victory’!! Hallelujah!!!

Here are a few reflective questions:

  • What areas of my life am I reigning?
  • What areas of my life am I not reigning?
  • How can I access the help I need in the areas identified above?

Let us pray:

Dear God, thank you for your great plan for my life. I ask that you help me cooperate with you as I grow and enter into all the areas of rulership you have destined for me in Jesus' name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am here because I rule and reign in life through Jesus Christ.
  • I have the wisdom and resources to conquer my world.
  • I have the victory! Hallelujah!!

Go rule your world, giving glory to God. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

TITLE: LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE: GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

The quote for today’s devotional is:

“Life is a wilderness of twists and turns where faith is the only compass" - Paul Santaguida

Devotional

Life is an adventure filled with twists and turns, and God has an amazing plan for you. Think of Helen Keller, who, despite her disabilities, lived an extraordinary life of learning, advocacy, and inspiration. Your journey may not be straightforward, but it’s uniquely yours and filled with potential.

Rest assured, God’s plans for our lives are full of hope and promise as stated in Jeremiah 29:11.

Embrace the adventure, trust in God’s guidance, and be open to the incredible possibilities He has in store for you.

Your life’s journey, with all its ups and downs, is part of God’s greater plan for you.  No successful person has had a smooth ride but they stayed on course and rose above the tides..

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What adventure or new challenge could I embrace in my life?
  2. How can I trust God’s plan even when it’s uncertain?

Let us pray:

Father Lord, I commit my life into your hands dear lord, please guide me and let me make it meaningful by your grace. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them

  • "I am here because to embrace life as an adventure,
  • I trust God’s plan for my future.

27-AUGUST-2024 - SMELL THE ROSES

MAIN THEME IS: WHY AM I HERE?

TITLE: SMELL THE ROSES

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

"The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad." —

Devotional

‘Smell the roses’ is an idiom that means to relax; to take time out of one's busy schedule to enjoy or appreciate the beauty of life.

In the rush of daily life, it is easy to overlook the simple joys around us. Take time to “smell the roses” and appreciate God’s blessings. Like Corrie ten Boom, who found joy and gratitude even in the midst of suffering during World War II, you can find beauty in the small things.

Psalm 118:24 encourages us to rejoice in each day as a gift from God. Whether it’s the laughter of friends, the beauty of nature, or a quiet moment of peace; it may even be in your studies, or hustling and bustling of life;

PAUSE! take time to notice and be thankful for these blessings. Embracing and appreciating these moments, bring joy and gratitude into your life. Do this daily.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What simple joys can I appreciate today?
  2. How can I take a moment to be thankful for God’s blessings?

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, today, I just want to thank you for every little thing that I usually take for granted. Thank you so much for being mindful of me. Amen!

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them.

"I am here to appreciate the simple joys and blessings around me on a daily basis..

Make today a day of appreciation and observe your mood. You will be thankful. I’ll see you tomorrow.

26-AUGUST-2024 - THE KING IS HERE

TITLE: THE KING IS HERE

The bible verses for today’s devotional are: i.  Ecclesiastes 8:4a, ii. Revelation 5:10(NIV)

  1. Since a king’s word is supreme, who can say to him, “What are you doing?
  2. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

Devotional:

In every domain there is a king controlling the affairs of the kingdom. King over a dominion. You are the commander in charge of the affairs of your life, your environment, your career, your spheres of life.

You have authority and power to engage and to ascertain your Lordship

Your words are potent. You are a king.

Embrace your identity; you’re a King. God has ordained you to reign and rule in the realms of life. Be conscious of your identity that you’re a king. God also expects you to reproduce kings like you, just as the Lord Jesus, the ultimate King, has made us kings and priests.

Kings reign by issuing decrees and pronouncements. Embrace your identity as a royal progeny

Here are a few reflective questions:

Who am I?

Do I know I am a king?

How am I ruling my kingdom?

Let us pray:

Dear Father, because I'm a royal progeny, I issue decrees and pronouncements over my destiny. Lord establish your plans and purposes in the hearts of men.

Please say these words of affirmation. Say them, mean them, own them and live them

I declare that I’m reigning as a king in life over all circumstances through the Word and the power of the Holy Ghost at work in me. Amen

Go rule your world the Lord's way today.. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Matthew 5:14 (NIV)

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."

Devotional

You have the power to light up the world with your actions and words. Think of Greta Thunberg, a young environmental activist whose passion and dedication have brought global attention to climate change. Just like Greta, your light can bring hope, joy, and change to those around you.

Matthew 5:14 calls us to be the light of the world, shining brightly for all to see. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every step you take to help others adds light to the world. Don’t hide your light; let it shine boldly and make a difference.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How can I be a light in my school or community?
  2. What are some ways I can brighten someone’s day today?

Let us pray:

I am a light in this world, I will shine so bright everywhere I go and no force will be able to stop me, Amen!
