27-MAY-2025 - THE PURPOSE OF FAILURE

THE MAIN THEME: FAILING FORWARD

TITLE: THE PURPOSE OF FAILURE

Our bible verse and quote for today’s devotional are: Romans 8:28 (NIV)

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

and

"Failure is not the opposite of success; it’s part of success."

– Arianna Huffington

Devotional

Failure is one of life’s greatest teachers. Though it often brings pain, disappointment, and frustration, failure has a purpose, it refines, strengthens, and prepares us for greater things.

Think about the life of Joseph. He had dreams of greatness, but before reaching his destiny, he faced betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and imprisonment. From the outside, it looked like failure after failure. But each setback was a setup for God’s purpose. By the time Joseph became second in command over Egypt, he had the wisdom, resilience, and character to handle the responsibility.

Failure serves multiple purposes in our lives:

  1. It develops character – We learn patience, humility, and resilience.

  2. It redirects us – Sometimes, failure is God’s way of closing the wrong door to guide us to the right one.

  3. It deepens our dependence on God – When we fail, we realize we cannot rely on our own strength, but on God’s wisdom and grace.

The key is not to let failure defeat us but to allow it to shape us. When we trust God even in our setbacks, He turns them into stepping stones for success.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How have my past failures shaped me into a better person?

  2. Is there a recent failure that God might be using to redirect me?

  3. How can I shift my mindset to see failure as part of God’s process?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons that come even through failure. Help me to trust that every setback is part of Your greater plan. Give me the strength to rise again, the wisdom to learn from my mistakes, and the faith to believe that You are working all things for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • My failures are not the end, they are part of God’s process.
  • God is using every mistake to shape me for greater things.
  • I trust that all things, even failure, work together for my good.
  • I will not be discouraged, I will learn, grow, and keep moving forward.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

26-MAY-2025 - THE POWER OF TRYING AGAIN

THE MAIN THEME: FAILING FORWARD

TITLE: THE POWER OF TRYING AGAIN

Our bible verse and quote for today’s devotional are: Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

"Do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

and

"Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm."

– Winston Churchill

Devotional

Many of the greatest breakthroughs in history happened because someone refused to give up. Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before perfecting the light bulb. He didn’t see failure as the end but as part of the journey.

When we fail, we are often tempted to quit. But what if we just need one more try to reach our breakthrough? The Bible reminds us to not grow weary, for our harvest is coming.

God rewards persistence. If He has placed a dream in your heart, keep going, keep trusting, and keep trying. Your breakthrough is closer than you think!

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What is something I gave up on too quickly?

  2. How can I develop resilience in my journey?

  3. What step can I take today to try again?

Let us pray

Father, give me the strength to keep trying, even when I feel discouraged. Help me to persevere, knowing that You are leading me toward my breakthrough. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I will not give up—I will keep trying.
  • My persistence will lead to success.
  • God is with me, strengthening me every step of the way.
  • My breakthrough is coming!

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

25-MAY-2025 - THE POWER OF FORGIVING YOURSELF

THE MAIN THEME:  FAILING FORWARD

TITLE: THE POWER OF FORGIVING YOURSELF

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Psalm 103:12 (NIV)

"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

Devotional:
We all make mistakes; sometimes, the hardest person to forgive is ourselves. When we hold on to guilt and regret, we carry a heavy burden that weighs us down, making it difficult to move forward. But God’s love and grace remind us that our past does not define us. True freedom comes when we learn to forgive ourselves and embrace the new opportunities ahead.

Think of a runner who stumbles and falls during a race. If they stay down, they lose the chance to finish strong. However, if they get back up, shake off the fall, and keep moving, they may still cross the finish line successfully. Life works the same way—falling is inevitable, but rising again is a choice.

Even significant biblical figures like Peter made mistakes. He denied Jesus three times, yet he didn’t allow his failure to define him. Instead, he repented, accepted God’s grace, and became a powerful leader in the early church. If Peter could move beyond his failure, so can you.

Holding on to past mistakes hinders growth, but forgiving yourself allows you to learn, heal, and move forward with wisdom. Remember, God has already forgiven you—now it’s time to do the same for yourself.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Is there a past mistake I still hold on to? Why?
  2. What would change in my life if I fully forgave myself?
  3. How can I use my past experiences as lessons rather than burdens?
  4. What steps can I take today to embrace self-forgiveness?

Let us pray:
Dear Lord, thank You for Your grace and mercy. Help me to see myself through Your eyes—not as my failures, but as someone worthy of love and forgiveness. Give me the strength to let go of guilt and move forward with hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  1. I forgive myself and embrace new beginnings.
  2. My past does not define me; my growth does.
  3. God’s grace is greater than my mistakes.
  4. I release guilt and step into freedom.

Embrace grace, let go of the past, and walk confidently into the future. See you tomorrow!

24-MAY-2025 - THE NEW MEANING OF FAILURE - FAILING FORWARD

THE MAIN THEME: FAILING FORWARD

TITLE: THE NEW MEANING OF FAILURE: FAILING FORWARD?

Our quote for today’s devotional is:
"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."

– Henry Ford

Devotional

Many of us were taught to fear failure, to see it as an end, a mark of inadequacy, or proof that we are not good enough. But what if failure is actually a stepping stone to success?

The Bible is full of stories of people who failed but did not remain in their failure. Peter denied Jesus three times, yet he became a pillar of the early church. David fell into sin, but he repented and was still called a man after God’s heart. The key to their transformation was not that they never failed, but that they failed forward.

Failing forward means learning from every setback, growing through each mistake, and using failures as fuel for greater things. When we embrace this mindset, failure loses its power to paralyze us. Instead, it becomes a teacher, guiding us toward wisdom, resilience, and divine purpose.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. How have I previously viewed failure in my life?
  2. What is one failure I can choose to learn from today?
  3. How can I invite God into my setbacks so He can turn them into stepping stones?

Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that my failures do not define me. Help me to see failure as an opportunity for growth, wisdom, and a deeper reliance on You. Teach me to fail forward, trusting that You are working all things together for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am not defined by my failures, but by how I rise from them.
  • Every setback is a setup for a comeback.
  • God is working in me, even through my mistakes.
  • I choose to fail forward, embracing growth and wisdom.

Do have a fulfilling day. Take good care of yourself and see you tomorrow!

23-MAY-2025 - THE GIFT OF RESILIENCE

THE MAIN THEME: FAILING FORWARD

TITLE: THE GIFT OF RESILIENCE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)
“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.”

Devotional:

Life can sometimes feel like a series of tests, right? From school to friendships to personal goals, there’s always something that challenges us. But here is a truth we often forget: failure isn’t the end. In fact, failure can be the beginning of something amazing if we allow ourselves to see it that way.

Think about it. Every time you’ve stumbled, whether in a class, a sports game, or a relationship, you’ve had the choice to stay down or get back up. Falling is a part of life. But rising after falling is where resilience is born. And that’s exactly what God wants to teach us.

God promises us that no matter how many times we fall, we have the ability to get up again. The beauty of failure isn't in the fall, but in the rise. When we fail, it’s like we’re being shaped and molded, and with each setback, we get closer to the person God is creating us to be.

Here’s the cool part: When we fail, God doesn’t just leave us to figure it out on our own. He’s there, offering us grace and strength to rise again. Resilience, that ability to bounce back, is a gift God gives us. It’s not about being perfect, but about learning, growing, and failing forward.

What does it mean to fail forward?
It means that every failure is a lesson, an opportunity for growth. Instead of letting failure define us, we let it refine us. We look at it, learn from it, and take those lessons into our next steps.

In a world that often tells you to be perfect, God’s message is different: it is okay to fail, but don't stay down. Keep moving forward, keep learning, and keep trusting Him. When you fall, remember that God’s plan for you isn’t to stay on the ground, but to rise with renewed strength.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What is something I have recently failed at? How did I react to it?
  2. How can I use that failure as a stepping stone to grow and improve?
  3. What lessons can I learn from my past failures?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, help me to see every setback as a setup for something greater. Give me strength to rise again, and help me trust You in the process. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them, and live them:

  • I am not defined by my failures, but by my ability to rise again
  • With every setback, I am growing stronger and wiser.
  • I trust that God is using my challenges to shape me into who I am meant to be.
  • I have the resilience to keep moving forward, no matter what obstacles come my way.

Keep being resilient. I’ll see you tomorrow.
