10-APRIL-2025 - EMBRACING YOUR ROLE AS A WORLD CHANGER

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: EMBRACING YOUR ROLE AS A WORLD CHANGER

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is: Matthew 5:14 (NIV)
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Devotional:

I am sure there are a lot of things we would love to see change in our worlds, from the minor nuisances that we see around us to more pressing global issues that break our hearts. There is so much that we would love to see get better, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming.

When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet, the Bible records that he objected- he probably saw the level of decadence and his mind could not conceive how on earth he was going to be able to make even a small difference in all that mess. However, God reminded him that He(God) had already equipped him to do the task ahead.

In each of us, God has deposited His Spirit and equipped us before we were born to do whatever He has called us to do. He is not asking us to change everything that we feel burdened about, He is asking us to do the little we can today in obedience to Him. We don’t have to know how it will all work out before we commit to doing our best in what we can do today and trust Him for more guidance as the day progresses.

And this also means that while we are students, our first task/purpose is to complete to the best of our capabilities, the task at hand (our education) and as we go along, other opportunities will open up and then, we can do the best we can in that situation as well. That is what being a world changer is about-doing the best you can where you are, and continuing to ask God to show you what next He has for you, and then you repeat- do the best you can AGAIN!

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          What is one way you can change your world today?

-          At this stage in my life, what is my primary assignment and how can I be a difference maker where I am?

-          What can I do to increase my chances of hearing God and having His help daily?

Let Us Pray::

Dear God, I trust you to enable me to light up my world and honour you each day, in Jesus’ name. Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  •       I am a world changer
  •       I will be my best and do my best at all times
  •       I will not wait to be older to be a difference-maker
  •       I am a world-changer, I embrace my role with confidence.

Dear world changer, I’ll see you tomorrow.

09-APRIL-2025 - BUILDING RESILIENCE

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: BUILDING RESILIENCE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is:   2 Corinthians 4:8 (NIV)

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.”

Devotional:

Resilience is a word that we have come to hear a lot about these days- in its simplest definition, it is the ability to bounce back when life knocks you down. History is filled with stories of men and women, boys and girls who defied seemingly insurmountable challenges and got to ‘the other side’ victorious.

After Nelson Mandela endured an unfair jail term for 27 years, he came out, not bitter or broken but with the light of hope still burning in him- he led his country towards peace and reconciliation instead of seeking vengeance.

In life, there will be many hurdles to climb/cross, sometimes it’s everyday challenges like not being accepted by our friends, being misunderstood by our family, or the challenges that come as a direct (or indirect) consequence of our actions. No matter what the challenges are, our lesson today is a reminder that nothing strange is happening to you, and no matter what you face, you have what it takes to bounce back, get back into the game and win- all the time. Of course, this does not mean we should pretend that we are not hurt when unpleasant things happen, but despite the hurt, we must choose to move on.

So, what can we do to fortify ourselves and increase our chances of bouncing back after a challenge?

  1. We can lean on God
  2. Recognize what the challenge is and seek solutions, while minding the lessons
  3. Encourage yourself (sometimes you need to be your own cheerleader)
  4. Find a real support system, with people who can encourage you
  5. Be positive, remind yourself of God’s promises, and be gracious to yourself..

Afterall, God has promised in Proverbs 24:16- that even if the righteous trip seven times, they will get up again. No matter where you are or what you are going through.. get up, dust yourself and keep going- you’ve got this!

Here are a few reflective questions:

-          What is one challenge you are facing right now? [can you write a short prayer asking God to help you with that specifically]

-          What is one verse or one affirmation you will meditate on as a reminder that all is well?

-          What can you do to support  a friend who may be going through challenges?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, no matter what comes my way, help me remember you are with me and that all things must work together for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am strong, I am well able to overcome any challenge.
  • God’s Spirit lives in me and He strengthens me
  • I cross every hurdle with grace and ease.

Have an awesomely pleasant day lovelies. I’ll see you tomorrow.

08-APRIL-2025 - UNSTOPPABLE FAITH

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE : UNSTOPPABLE FAITH

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is:  Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Devotional:

What if you truly believed that nothing could stop you from making a difference? Unstoppable faith is not about never facing obstacles; it is about knowing that with God, those obstacles are stepping stones, not roadblocks.

When David faced Goliath, he wasn’t the strongest warrior, but he had faith in God’s power. (1 Samuel 17)

When Esther stood before the king, she wasn’t the most powerful person in the kingdom but she believed in God’s purpose for her life. ( Esther 5:1-8)

Their faith allowed them to change their world.

You don’t need to be the loudest or the most talented. All you just need is to trust that God has placed you where you are for a reason. Your words, actions, and prayers can bring light to your school, home, or community.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What fear is holding you back from stepping out in faith?
  2. How can you use your gifts to bring positive change around you?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, strengthen my faith so I can do exploits for you even in difficult situations in Jesus name. Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am empowered by God to make a difference.
  • My faith is unstoppable, and I will change my world.

Have an awe-mazing day darlings, I’ll see you tomorrow.

07-APRIL-2025 - PRAYING FOR CHANGE

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: PRAYING FOR CHANGE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is:  James 5:16b (NIV)

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Devotional

Prayer is one of the most powerful tools for bringing about change in our lives and the world around us. It is a direct conversation with God where we can express our hopes, concerns, and desires. When you pray with faith, you align your heart with God’s will, and He can work through you to make a difference.

Even as a young person, your prayers are powerful. Don’t think you must wait until you're older to pray for your family, friends, school, or community. God listens to every heartfelt prayer, no matter your age.

When Nehemiah heard that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down, he prayed to God before acting. His prayers were filled with faith and led to the city's restoration (Nehemiah 1:4-11). Just like Nehemiah, your prayers can spark positive changes around you.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1.   What things in your life or community would you like to see change?
  2.   How can you make prayer a consistent habit?
  3.   Have you ever seen a prayer answered? How did it impact your faith?
  4.   Who can you pray for today?

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of prayer. Help me to trust in Your power to bring about change. Teach me to pray with faith, believing that You hear me. Use my prayers to impact my life and the lives of those around me. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • My prayers are powerful and effective.
  •  God hears me when I pray.
  • I will pray consistently and with faith.
  • My prayers can bring positive change.

Never underestimate the power of your prayers. Pray boldly and trust that God is working behind the scenes. See you tomorrow!

 06-APRIL-2025 - LOVING DIFFICULT PEOPLE

THE MAIN THEME: CHANGING YOUR WORLD

TITLE: LOVING DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is:   Matthew 5:44 (NIV)

"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." —

Devotional:

It is easy to love people who treat us well, but Jesus calls us to a higher standard: to love even those who challenge us.

We all have people in our lives who are difficult to love. They are people who annoy us, hurt us, or simply don’t understand us.

Loving difficult people doesn’t mean ignoring our feelings or letting others mistreat us. It means choosing kindness over resentment, patience over anger, and understanding over judgment.

When we love difficult people, we reflect God’s grace—because, truthfully, we’ve all been difficult to love a lot of times, yet God loves us unconditionally.

Instead of reacting with frustration, try seeing difficult people as God sees them: imperfect but valuable. Pray for them. Set healthy boundaries when needed, but don’t let bitterness take root in your heart. Love isn’t always a feeling—it’s a choice, a reflection of God’s love in us.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. Who in your life is difficult to love right now?
  2. How can you show them God’s love in a practical way?
  3. What might God be teaching you through this challenge?

Let us pray

Heavenly Father, help me to see others through Your eyes and to respond with kindness, even when I am hurt or frustrated.(Amen)

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • God’s love fills my heart, giving me the strength to love even when it’s hard.
  • I choose grace, patience, and kindness

You’ve got the grace to relate with difficult people. You can do it. I’ll see you tomorrow.
