07-MARCH-2025 - HAVE YOU GOT THE SKILLS FOR PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: HAVE YOU GOT THE SKILLS FOR PERSONAL GROWTH

The bible verse for today is: Proverbs 22:29 (NIV)

Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings."

Devotional:

Daniel in the Bible had so distinguished himself that he could not be ignored. In fact, Daniel stood out so much that he served many kings and was highly sought after.  He grew not just in his relationship with God, but he committed to learning what was needed to excel at his daily task.

Depending on the area where we are committed to growing, we need to develop the skills required. For example, if we recognize a gap in our spiritual life and we intend to grow in that aspect, we will need to know what skills will help us develop that aspect of our lives and what to do to master that skill. In the same way, if the area of interest is academic, do we have the skill needed to improve our study patterns? The good thing is that we are in an era where it is easy to seek out and acquire skills that are needed to give us a boost as we embark on our life’s journey.

Our task today is simple, and it will serve as reflective questions for today:

- In what areas of life am I committing to personal growth?

- What are the skills needed to grow in this/these area(s)?

- What are some of the ways I can acquire these skills and what can I do today to get them?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, I thank you for the abundance of opportunity all around me to acquire the skills I need for my journey. I am grateful that all I need has already been provided.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I recognize what I need for my next level
  • I am committed to refining my skills to become the best version of myself.

Have a great day. Take good care of yourself. I’ll see you tomorrow.

06-MARCH-2025 - FROM EXCUSES TO RESULTS

THE MAIN THEME:  ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: FROM EXCUSES TO RESULTS

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: Phil 4:13 (NIV)

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength”

DEVOTIONAL

In life, we often find ourselves making excuses for our failures or shortcomings.  We blame our circumstances, our past experiences, or other people for our lack of success. However, if we want to achieve our goals and live a fulfilling life, we need to let go of our excuses and take responsibility for our actions. Pro 22:13 The slothful man saith; There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.

The first step in moving from excuses to results is to become aware of the excuses we make.  Once we become aware of them, we can start to challenge them. Are our excuses really valid? Are they helping us to achieve our goals? If not, it is time to let them go.

Once we have let go of our excuses, we can start to focus on taking action. It is important to set realistic goals and to break them down into smaller, more manageable steps.

Our text for today is a reminder that we are self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; we should be ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses us with inner strength ad confident peace

As we take actions, we will inevitably encounter obstacles and setbacks.  However instead of making excuses, we should view these challenges as opportunities for growth. What can we learn from mistakes? How can we improve our approach?

By letting go of our excuses, taking action, and learning from our mistakes we can move from a place of stagnation to a place of progress. We can achieve our goals and create the life we want to live. Pro 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Here are a few reflective questions;

  1. What are my limiting beliefs, and how can I challenge them?
  2. What skills do I need to develop to advance in my career, and personal growth?

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Lord, for your word to me today. I can do all things through your son who empowers me to fulfil His purpose here on earth.  I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency in Jesus’s name Amen

Please say these words of affirmation after me.  Say them, mean them, own them and live them

  • I am creating successful and fulfilling career and relationships
  • I am working towards my dream and I finish what I start
  • I am surrounded by loving and supportive people.

Enjoy your day, while I see you, tomorrow.

05-MARCH-2025 - EMBRACING VULNERABILITY

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: EMBRACING VULNERABILITY

The bible verse for today’s devotional is: 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."

Devotional

Vulnerability is often thought of and seen as a weakness. Admitting you are struggling, asking for help, or showing your emotions can feel risky. You ask yourself, what if people judge, reject or make fun of me?

God doesn’t see vulnerability as an opportunity for His strength to shine through us.

Jesus Himself was vulnerable during His earthly ministry. He wept, felt deep sorrow, and even asked for support from His disciples in His hardest moments. Yet, His openness didn’t make Him weak. It only made Him relatable.

When we embrace our vulnerability, we allow God’s power to work in us. We create deeper connections with others and experience freedom from pretending we have it all together.

True strength is not in hiding our struggles but in being real with God and trusted people. When we do, we invite healing, growth and our faith gets stronger.

Here are a few reflective questions:

  1. What fears keep me from being vulnerable with others?
  2. Who in my life can I trust to share my struggles with?

Let Us Pray:

Dear God, thank You for loving me just as I am. Give me the courage to be honest with You and with others, trusting that You will use my openness for my growth and healing. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I don’t need to pretend to be perfect
  • I am loved as I am.

Have an amazing day and see you tomorrow.

04-MARCH-2025 - DO YOUR DAILY HABITS SUPPORT PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: DO YOUR DAILY HABITS SUPPORT PERSONAL GROWTH?

The quote for today’s devotional is: We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”

— Will Durant

Devotional:

Reflecting on the lessons learnt over the past months, we would agree that man is a creature of habit. We do more things out of habit than otherwise. In the context of personal growth, how have your habits helped or hindered you?

As we review and see what areas of life we are committing to growing in, we ought to also do a ‘habit analysis’ or audit, to be sure that we are not self-sabotaging with habits that cannot produce the result we desire to see.

Using examples of great people, even in contemporary times, be they athletes, entertainers, scientists, you name it, there would always be a background story of the routines and rituals and daily practices that enhanced their skills and helped them attain greatness.

If you want to see the changes you desire in whatever area of life you have decided to grow in, it is necessary to review what you do daily, as whatever we do repeatedly, will impact the outcome we see.

Here are a few reflective questions:

-What are my current habits that support my personal growth and how can I ensure I keep at it?

-What are my current habits that are not supporting my personal growth and how do I eliminate such habits?

 Let Us Pray:

Dear God, help me be intentional about my growth. Help me build habits that support me to be all you created me to be in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am growing everyday through my daily habits.
  • I stay consistent because small efforts can lead to great outcomes.
  • I am disciplined and committed, because my future depends on it.

Do have an awe-mazing day growing. See you tomorrow.

03-MARCH-2025 - DANGERS OF PERSONAL GROWTH

THE MAIN THEME: ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

TITLE: DANGERS OF PERSONAL GROWTH

The bible verse and quote for today’s devotional is:  Mark 8.36 (NIV)

What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

"The greatest danger in life is not failure, but success without integrity."

– Rick Warren

Devotional:

There’s a saying: “Not all growth is good growth.” At first, that sounds weird, how can growth be bad?

Think about a garden, even if the farmer meticulously plants specific crops, chances are there will be weeds growing among the good crops. Weeds the farmer takes out continuously to ensure his crops are not disturbed. In the same way, our commitment to personal growth would often require learning new things, reaching incredible heights and sometimes, hitting below the mark- each of these can spring up the weeds of pride, unhealthy competition, compromise, discouragements and such vices that could threaten to stunt our growth or stop us. These are weeds we must intentionally take out to ensure our growth is not endangered. As the Bible says, what good is it if we chase down personal growth and lose our essence in the process?

Here are a few reflective questions:

-In what way can I balance growth with Godly wisdom?

-What can I do to ensure my personal growth is healthy and God-centered?

 Let Us Pray:

Dear God, help me stay grounded in you. May my life and success always bring glory to you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

  • I am growing in line with God’s plan for my life.
  • My growth is guided by wisdom, humility, and integrity.

Enjoy your day. I’ll see you tomorrow.  Take good care of you.
