TITLE: THE POWER OF BEING DIFFERENT

Our bible verse for today’s devotional is; 1 Peter 2:9, (NIV)

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 

Devotional:

Being different can feel uncomfortable, like you're going against the flow while everyone else seems to fit in. But what if being different is exactly where your power lies?

God didn’t call you to blend in. He called you to stand out. You are chosen, set apart to live in a way that reflects His light. That means the way you think, speak, act, and treat others may not always match the crowd, and that’s okay. 

When you stand for kindness in a world of cruelty, you make a difference. When you stay honest in a sea of lies, you set a standard. When you live with faith in a world full of doubt, you shine hope.

Being different for the right reasons isn’t weakness. It is strength. 

Here are a few reflective questions:

1. Where have I felt pressure to be like everyone else?
2. How have my differences made a positive impact on someone?
3. What is one way I can let my difference be a light this week?

Let us pray:

Lord, thank You for setting me apart. Help me to embrace being different for Your glory. Use my life to shine Your light and bring hope to others. Amen.

Please say these words of affirmation after me. Say them, mean them, own them and live them:

• I am different by design. 
• My difference is my strength, and I choose to let God’s light shine through me.
